My Own Hanging Flowers and Yummy Ice Cream Cake

My hanging flowers turned out different than the roses from the House of Smith's (see previous post for tutorial) but I like them all the same. I can't wait to hang them over Raia's bed!

So this cake may not be abnormally beautiful, but it is so delicious! It is an ice cream cake and you can make it!

You start by making to round cakes as usual. I chose to make chocolate:) I put the cakes in the fridge to cool for a half our to 45 minutes. Then I took them out and sliced each one through the middle with a bread knife creating four pieces of round cake. Next I took some cookie dough ice cream that was soft (not necessarily melted) and scooped it in between the layers of round cake (like you are making ice cream sandwiches). Put the final layer of cake on top of the ice cream and rush it into the freezer. Let it set for a half hour or so. The frosting is whip cream. I used cool whip. I frosted it just before I was ready to serve it. I also added the green sprinkles, you can garnish it however you would like:) I promise it is so yummy!

Let me know how it turns out!

Getting Ready To Party

My Baby Girl is turning one this week and this could very likely be the last first birthday party that I throw (sniffle).

I have been having such a difficult time deciding what to do for her party since she really isn't "into" anything (accept all the stuff that she shouldn't be into)

After searching for ideas, I think I am just going to go girly and feminine. I got some great Ideas from a blog called "The fickle Pickle" You best go check it out:)

My color schemes and materials are not quite the same, but I'll let you know how it turns out:)

edit: Find the tutorial for these hanging roses here.
